There are some questions that you can laugh off, and some that you'll need to answer. For example, if you've only known a girl a short while, and you're out in public, she might ask your opinion on another girl. She may be fishing for validation, she may be seeing if you've got a wandering eye.
In this particular situation, and with this particular question, you're better off saying something not too serious. In other words, don't answer the question directly. Say something goofy about her shoes or something.
On the other hand, some questions need to be answered truthfully. But how you do that will make all the difference.
Question: How Many Women Have You Been With?
She likes you, and she wants to make sure she's not the latest in a long line of pump and dump. If the true answer is less than ten, you've got no problems. However, it you're in the high three figures, you may have some explaining to do.
In case, you want to emphasize that you're NOT going to hurt her. You're NOT going to leave her on the side of the road. You ARE going to stay with her as long as it's desirable to BOTH of you. Say something like this:
"Well, probably more than average. But I'm very, very careful not to hurt anybody. Besides, I don't want to think of those other girls now, I only want to think of you. Of us."
And no matter what you do, NEVER ask her how many partners she's had. You won't be able to deal with it. Trust me.
Question: Why Aren't You Married?
If you're a bit older (like yours truly) yet you know your way around the dating world, this will come up. What it means is that she thinks you're a player. After all, if you've got confidence with a women but haven't settled down yet, it must be because you like sleeping around, right?
Not so fast. You want to agree that you're confident and have a lot to offer, but you don't to come across as a serial seducer. Just tell her that you'd LOVE to settle down with the right girl, but as you move through life and learn more about yourself and the world, it seems that you keep raising the bar on what's acceptable.
Question: Do You Date A Lot?
This is a double edged sword. Answer it one way or the other, and you're either a player or somebody with no social skills. Of course, your answer should show you're definitely NOT a player, AND you have plenty of experience, giving her the best of both worlds.
Something like this will work:
"Yes. I date as often as I can. I think finding the perfect relationship with the right person is the most important thing one can do in life. Don't you agree?"
